CASA MESA, US FIRST Robotics Team 2261

Karen Hunter

My name is Karen Hunter and I have been the St. Vrain MESA Coordinator for ten years. I became familiar with FIRST Robotics about four years ago when Carlota and I decided that Casa needed a project for high school MESA students. Ever since then, I have been an enthusiastic supporter of the FIRST Robotics MESA team. It is because of them that MESA and robotics have blossomed at Casa! I believe that MESA at Casa exemplifies the meaning of the MESA program:

MESA is a National academic enrichment program that is designed to prepare pre-K through high school students to enter Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) professions through collaborative projects focused on building math science, technology and communication skills.

I am grateful to the dedicated mentors and the 63 students at Casa that make Casa MESA one of the most successful programs in the state!
