What is First?
First Tech Challenge is a program designed for high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in and excelling at math and science. This competition is not solely based on winning the competition, it’s mostly about gracious professionalism and respect for your own team and other teams at the competition. The Game:
- This is a smaller version of the FRC competition. The robot will be playing on a 12′x12′ playing field. There were will be two alliances “Red” and “Blue”, which will be competing against each other. This match is played on two modes, which are autonomous and teleoperated.
- The object of the game is to score more points than your alliance you are competing against. Balls that are scored in the autonomous period are counted at the end and then again at the end of the teleoperated mode, if they are still in the goal.
Casa de la Esperanza also participates in this program. In this team, there are 6 students and 3 mentors. We work really hard and our goal is to reach the finals. The games are always a surprise in both FTC and FRC. Visit www.usfirst.org for more information on the game.
